Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Pediatric Neuropsychologist to join our Oncology team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with children and adolescents who are battling cancer, utilizing your expertise in neuropsychological assessments to help guide their treatment and support their overall well-being.   1. Conduct neuropsychological assessments on pediatric patients with cancer to evaluate their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  2. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and provide recommendations based on assessment results.
  3. Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients and their families to address any psychological or emotional issues related to their cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  4. Stay current with research and developments in the field of pediatric neuropsychology to ensure the most effective and evidence-based care for patients.
  5. Communicate assessment findings in a clear and comprehensive manner to the medical team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, treatments, and interactions with patients and their families.
  7. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and develop individualized treatment plans.
  8. Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide additional support and resources for patients and their families.
  9. Educate and train staff and caregivers on how to support and promote the cognitive and emotional well-being of pediatric patients with cancer.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in the practice of pediatric neuropsychology.
  11. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  12. Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients with cancer and their families to ensure they receive the best possible care.
  13. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment at all times.
  14. Participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols and interventions for pediatric patients with cancer.
  15. Continuously seek out professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of pediatric neuropsychology.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree In Clinical Psychology With A Focus On Pediatric Neuropsychology, Preferably From An Apa-Accredited Program.

  • Completion Of A Postdoctoral Fellowship In Pediatric Neuropsychology, With Specific Training And Experience In Working With Pediatric Oncology Patients.

  • Licensure Or Eligibility For Licensure As A Psychologist In The State Of Pennsylvania.

  • Knowledge Of And Experience With Evidence-Based Assessment And Treatment Techniques For Pediatric Oncology Patients, Including Chemotherapy-Related Cognitive Impairment And Psychosocial Issues.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
