
Pathologists' Assistant
Welcome to the Pathologists' Assistant team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Pathologists' Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pathology and experience working with pediatric patients and their families.The Pathologists' Assistant will be responsible for providing assistance to pathologists in all areas of pathology, including histology, immunohistochemistry, autopsy, and laboratory management. The Pathologists' Assistant will work collaboratively with CHOP's pathologists, residents, and laboratory staff to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to our patients and their families.Our ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant, Pathology, or a related field; be certified as a Pathologists' Assistant by the American Society for Clinical Pathology; and have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. In addition, the candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.If you are an enthusiastic individual with a passion for helping pediatric patients and their families, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to pathologists in all areas of pathology, including histology, immunohistochemistry, autopsy, and laboratory management.
- Work collaboratively with CHOP's pathologists, residents, and laboratory staff to ensure the highest quality of care is provided.
- Maintain a high level of professional knowledge and expertise in the field of pathology.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor and analyze laboratory results and provide interpretations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance and other related programs.
- Participate in educational and research activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
