Job Description

Welcome to the Division of Plastic Surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia! We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team. Our division is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our young patients and their families, and we are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for improving the lives of children. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping our orthodontists provide top-notch orthodontic treatments to our patients.   • Assist the orthodontists with preparing and setting up treatment rooms for appointments
  • Greet and welcome patients and their families, creating a warm and friendly environment
  • Review and update patient medical records and ensure all necessary information is accurate and up to date
  • Take and record patient's vital signs, including blood pressure and temperature
  • Assist with patient intake and provide support during initial consultations and exams
  • Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment
  • Assist the orthodontist with procedures such as taking X-rays, placing braces, and adjusting appliances
  • Educate patients and their families on proper oral care techniques and post-treatment care instructions
  • Monitor patients during procedures and alert the orthodontist of any concerns or complications
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and place orders as needed
  • Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to stay updated on new techniques and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Orthodontic Assistant Program

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Experience Working As An Orthodontic Assistant
