- Assist physicians in conducting eye exams and procedures on pediatric patients.
- Prepare and maintain ophthalmic equipment and supplies for patient use.
- Perform visual acuity tests, ocular motility tests, and other diagnostic tests as directed by physicians.
- Record and maintain accurate patient medical histories and exam results.
- Educate patients and their families on eye health and post-procedure care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best course of treatment for each patient.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with hospital standards.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Keep up-to-date with current ophthalmology techniques and procedures.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required by the hospital.
- Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
Certified Opthalmic Assistant (Coa) Or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Designation From The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Pediatric Ophthalmology.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Diagnostic Procedures, Including Visual Acuity Testing, Tonometry, And Retinoscopy.
Experience With Pediatric Patients And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals.
