- Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders in pediatric patients.
- Perform ophthalmic tests and procedures, such as visual acuity measurements and eye muscle evaluations.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history and test results.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
- Educate patients and their families on proper eye care and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in ophthalmic technology and techniques.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to young patients during procedures.

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Credentials From The Joint Commission On Allied Health Personnel In Ophthalmology (Jcahpo).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Ophthalmology Clinic Or Hospital Setting, Preferably With Pediatric Patients.
Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Proficiency In Performing Various Diagnostic Tests Such As Visual Acuity, Tonometry, And Retinal Imaging.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Children And Their Families In A Compassionate And Professional Manner.
Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology Related To The Eye, As Well As Knowledge Of Common Eye Conditions And Treatments.
