- Provide comprehensive nursing care and support to refugee families in navigating the healthcare system.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for refugee families, building trusting relationships and providing ongoing support.
- Conduct thorough assessments of refugee families' healthcare needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up care for refugee families.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations to ensure culturally appropriate and accessible care for refugees.
- Educate and advocate for refugee families, ensuring they understand their healthcare options and rights.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of refugee families' healthcare progress and needs.
- Facilitate communication and cultural understanding between refugee families and healthcare providers.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance cultural competency and knowledge of refugee healthcare needs.
- Act as a liaison between the Refugee Health Program and other departments within the hospital to ensure seamless and coordinated care for refugee families.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Nurse Navigator In The Refugee Health Program At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Provides A Strong Foundation In Healthcare Knowledge And Skills Necessary For This Role.
Registered Nurse (Rn) License: A Valid And Active Rn License Is A Must-Have Qualification For This Job. This Ensures That The Nurse Navigator Is Authorized To Practice Nursing In The State Of Pennsylvania And Can Provide Safe And Effective Care To Patients.
Experience Working With Refugee Populations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Working With Refugee Populations In A Healthcare Setting. This Demonstrates The Ability To Understand And Address The Unique Healthcare Needs And Challenges Of This Patient Population.
