  1. Provide exceptional care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
  2. Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of critically ill infants.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  4. Ensure the safety and well-being of patients by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing necessary procedures.
  5. Educate and support families on their newborn's condition, treatment plan, and potential outcomes.
  6. Participate in rounds, conferences, and other team meetings to discuss patient progress and make recommendations for changes in care.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.
  8. Continuously update knowledge and skills through attending trainings, conferences, and staying up-to-date on best practices in neonatal care.
  9. Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered.
  11. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of job performance.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  14. Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  15. Embody the values and mission of CHOP by providing compassionate and family-centered care to all patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing With A Concentration In Neonatal Care: This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Newborn Infants And Their Families.

  • Current State License As A Nurse Practitioner: This Is A Necessary Requirement To Practice As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner In The State Of Pennsylvania And Ensures That The Candidate Is Legally Authorized To Perform The Duties Of The Job.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Setting: This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Proficiency In Providing Specialized Care To Critically Ill Newborns And Their Families.

  • Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Nnp): This Certification Is Offered By The National Certification Corporation (Ncc) And Validates The Candidate's Expertise In Neonatal Care.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Families, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing Effective And Compassionate Care To Patients And Their Families.
