- Oversee the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medical staff credentials, privileging, and other related documents.
- Coordinate with various departments and committees to collect and review required documentation for credentialing and privileging.
- Communicate with medical staff, department heads, and other stakeholders to facilitate the credentialing and privileging process.
- Conduct thorough background checks and verification of medical staff education, training, licensure, and other credentials.
- Monitor and track expiration dates of medical staff credentials, privileging, and other required documents, and ensure timely re-credentialing and re-privileging.
- Collaborate with the Medical Staff Office and other departments to develop and implement policies and procedures related to credentialing and privileging.
- Educate and train medical staff on credentialing and privileging requirements and processes.
- Serve as a liaison between medical staff and external agencies, such as insurance companies and regulatory bodies, regarding credentialing and privileging matters.
- Keep abreast of current healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to medical staff credentialing and privileging.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical staff information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in audits and surveys related to medical staff credentialing and privileging.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Medical Staff Affairs leadership.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with other members of the Medical Staff Affairs team.
- Continuously seek ways to improve and streamline the credentialing and privileging process for efficiency and accuracy.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Medical Staff Affairs, Credentialing, And Privileging In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Accreditation Standards And Regulations Related To Medical Staff Credentialing And Privileging, Such As The Joint Commission And Cms.
Strong Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Manage Multiple Tasks And Prioritize Deadlines.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Medical Staff, Administrators, And External Agencies.
