- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to accurately diagnose infectious diseases in children.
- Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment and maintain accurate records of results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate testing methods and interpret test results.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory tests.
- Utilize advanced laboratory techniques and equipment to identify and isolate infectious agents.

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Laboratory Techniques And Procedures Specific To Infectious Diseases.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls): The Candidate Must Hold Current Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Proficiency In The Field Of Medical Laboratory Science.
Experience In Infectious Disease Testing: Previous Experience Performing Laboratory Testing For Infectious Diseases Is A Must For This Position. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Microbiological Techniques And Be Familiar With A Wide Range Of Infectious Agents.
Proficiency In Molecular Techniques: With The Increasing Use Of Molecular Techniques In Infectious Disease Testing, The Candidate Should Possess A Solid Understanding Of These Methods. This Includes Experience With Pcr, Dna Sequencing, And Other Molecular Assays.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: As A Medical Laboratory Scientist, Attention To Detail And Accuracy Are Crucial Skills. The Candidate Should Have A Strong Track Record Of Maintaining High Standards Of Quality Control And Ensuring Accurate And Reliable Test Results.
