
Medical Laboratory Scientist
We are looking for a highly-motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Laboratory Services team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The successful candidate will have a passion for providing the highest quality of laboratory services to our pediatric patients and will demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent is also required. Responsibilities:
- Ensure that quality laboratory services are provided to pediatric patients.
- Perform laboratory tests and interpret results accurately and timely.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
- Ensure that laboratory results are reported in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Remain current on laboratory trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Participate in research, quality improvement, and related activities.
- Monitor laboratory specimen collection and processing.
- Train and mentor other laboratory personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field
Aab/Ascp Certification Or Equivalent
