  1. Oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all testing procedures.
  2. Train and supervise a team of clinical lab assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain smooth workflow.
  4. Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests, including but not limited to blood tests, urinalysis, and microbiology.
  5. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results.
  7. Maintain accurate records of all testing procedures and results, and generate reports as needed.
  8. Troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies that arise during testing, and communicate any concerns to the appropriate parties.
  9. Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques within the field of clinical laboratory testing.
  10. Serve as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and dedication to providing high-quality care to our young patients.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with maintaining laboratory accreditation standards.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  14. Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  15. Mentor and coach junior staff, providing guidance and support for career development and growth.
  16. Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by the laboratory manager or other members of the leadership team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With At Least 1-2 Years In A Supervisory Or Lead Role.

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp, Amt).

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Quality Control, And Safety Protocols.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Train And Mentor Junior Lab Assistants And Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals.
