Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician-PICU to join the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) team. Reporting to the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, this position will provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments for pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The successful candidate will be a team player who is committed to providing quality care and support to patients and families.The ideal candidate will possess a medical degree with board certification in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with additional fellowship training in PICU. An MD or DO with a valid medical license and current DEA certification is required. The successful candidate should possess excellent clinical and communication skills, as well as a strong commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments for pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  2. Work collaboratively with the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and the CHOP team.
  3. Create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in the PICU.
  4. Ensure patient safety through evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
  6. Participate in research activities related to PICU.
  7. Develop and deliver educational seminars and lectures regarding PICU.
  8. Provide compassionate care and support to patients and families.
  9. Participate in quality assurance activities and clinical audits.
  10. Utilize and maintain knowledge of current, evidence-based medicine.
