Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia! We are a leading pediatric medical center dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Homecare Respiratory Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our young patients and their families to provide respiratory care in the comfort of their own homes. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and have the necessary qualifications, we would love to have you join our team.

  1. Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients in their homes, in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient, based on their specific respiratory needs.
  3. Educate patients and their families on proper respiratory care techniques and equipment usage.
  4. Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, and make appropriate adjustments to care plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  6. Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address any concerns or questions they may have.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current respiratory therapy practices and equipment, and make recommendations for improvements to patient care.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  10. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times.
  11. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the respiratory therapy department.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, representing the hospital and its values.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve upon the quality of care provided to patients.
  14. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  15. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field.

  • Active License To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist In The State Of Pennsylvania.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Respiratory Therapist In A Homecare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Pediatric Respiratory Care Techniques And Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively With Pediatric Patients And Their Families.
