Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented Hematology Oncology Complex Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating complex scheduling and appointment management for patients in the Hematology/Oncology (H/O) Department. As the Complex Scheduling Coordinator, you will be a key member of the H/O team and an integral part of providing exceptional patient care.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of two years of experience in a medical office setting, with a background in scheduling and patient registration. They should also possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Above all, we are seeking someone with a deep understanding of the importance of delivering quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate complex scheduling and appointment management for patients in the Hematology/Oncology Department.
  2. Organize and maintain patient records according to hospital protocol.
  3. Ensure all appointment scheduling and registration processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Manage and update patient information in the hospital’s electronic medical records system.
  5. Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and caregivers.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient scheduling processes.
  7. Monitor and analyze scheduling trends to identify areas of improvement.
  8. Document any scheduling or registration errors and work to address them.
  9. Provide support and guidance to staff and trainees on scheduling and registration processes.
  10. Participate in departmental meetings and provide feedback and suggestions.
