- Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients according to established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, administer treatments and medications as prescribed, and document all interventions accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, equipment use, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain and operate respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, team meetings, and other collaborative efforts to provide coordinated care for patients.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in respiratory therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain high-quality patient care and safety standards.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families, making them feel comfortable and supported during their hospital stay.
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of new respiratory therapy techniques and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and reports, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

- Adhere to ethical standards and codes of conduct in all aspects of job performance.
Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or Related Field: A Graduate Respiratory Therapist At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Rrt Certification From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).
State Licensure: Applicants Must Be Licensed To Practice As A Respiratory Therapist In The State Of Pennsylvania. Additional Licensure In Neighboring States May Be Required.
Pediatric Experience: Previous Experience Working With Pediatric Patients Is Highly Preferred For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Treating Children With Respiratory Disorders.
Cpr And Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: All Candidates Must Possess A Current Cpr And Bls Certification, As These Skills Are Critical For Providing Emergency Respiratory Care To Children. Advanced Life Support (Als) Certification May Also Be Required.
