Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Communication Specialist to join our team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and effective communication between emergency responders, medical staff, and patients. As an Emergency Communication Specialist, you will be responsible for relaying critical information, dispatching resources, and coordinating emergency response protocols.   1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all emergency communications, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to appropriate parties.
  2. Monitor and respond to all incoming emergency calls, prioritizing and dispatching resources as needed.
  3. Coordinate with emergency responders, including EMS, police, and fire departments, to ensure seamless communication and efficient response times.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with medical staff to relay important information and updates on patient conditions.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all emergency communications, including call details, response times, and outcomes.
  6. Stay up-to-date on all emergency procedures and protocols, and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  7. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, and provide clear and concise instructions to callers and responders.
  8. Collaborate with other hospital departments, such as security and facilities, to ensure a coordinated emergency response.
  9. Provide guidance and support to colleagues and new team members on emergency communication procedures and protocols.
  10. Participate in training and drills to enhance emergency communication skills and preparedness.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communication, Emergency Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Emergency Communication, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Various Stakeholders During Emergency Situations.

  • Knowledge Of Emergency Management Protocols And Procedures, Including Incident Command Systems And Disaster Response Plans.
