Job Description

Are you a passionate healthcare professional with a commitment to nutrition and pediatric care? The Dietetic Technician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a vital role in providing nutritional care to our young patients. We are looking for an energetic and patient-focused individual who is ready to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. To be considered for this position, applicants must possess at least an Associate Degree in Dietetics or a related field, and have a minimum of two years of experience in nutrition care, preferably in a healthcare facility. Candidates must also be certified as a Registered Dietetic Technician (RDT) or eligible to become certified. At CHOP, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients and their families. The Dietetic Technician will be responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date nutrition care to patients, while also serving as a resource for families and health care providers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide accurate and up-to-date nutrition care for patients, including assessment of nutritional status and development of nutrition plans.
  2. Evaluate patient progress and response to nutrition care.
  3. Educate and counsel patients and their families on nutrition and dietary management.
  4. Develop and maintain patient nutrition care plans.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress throughout the course of care.
  6. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  7. Serve as a resource to families and health care providers on nutrition care.
  8. Participate in research projects and committees related to nutrition care.
  9. Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition education materials.
  10. Maintain current knowledge of dietary guidelines and nutrition trends.
