- Provide expert clinical care to young cardiac patients, utilizing advanced knowledge and skills in pediatric cardiology.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for other nursing staff, sharing expertise and promoting best practices in pediatric cardiac care.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and diagnostic testing.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patient response and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, advocating for the best interests of the patient.
- Monitor and document patient progress, identifying any changes in condition and reporting them to the medical team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research projects related to pediatric cardiology.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and interventions.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards of practice.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay up-to-date on advancements in pediatric cardiology.
- Provide support and guidance to families during difficult and emotionally challenging situations.
- Collaborate with community resources to ensure a seamless transition of care for patients and families.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families, following infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Valid Rn License And Advanced Practice Nursing Certification In The State Of Pennsylvania.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Pediatric Cardiology Or Cardiac Critical Care.
Master's Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Knowledge And Expertise In The Management Of Complex Cardiac Conditions In Pediatric Patients.
Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams To Develop And Implement Evidence-Based Care Plans For Patients And Families.
