Job Description

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we are looking for an outstanding and experienced Child Life Manager to join our team and lead the Child Life Department. This role provides an opportunity to provide innovative and creative leadership to our Child Life team and to support our commitment to excellent patient care and family-centered services. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while also having strong organizational skills and an unwavering commitment to patient- and family-centered care.The Child Life Manager will be responsible for managing, supervising, and developing the Child Life team. This individual will provide leadership and direction in the planning, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive, evidence-based, family-centered Child Life services. The ideal candidate will provide effective communication skills, problem-solving skills, and strong collaboration skills with multi-disciplinary teams.Required qualifications for this role include:• Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or related field• Current certification in Child Life from the Child Life Council• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Child Life Specialist in a hospital setting• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Strong organizational skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment• Demonstrated commitment to excellent patient care and family-centered servicesIf you are an experienced and dedicated professional with a passion for helping children and families cope with the challenges of hospitalization, we invite you to apply to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership and direction in the planning, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive, evidence-based, family-centered Child Life services.
  2. Directly manage, supervise, and develop the Child Life team.
  3. Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the Child Life Department.
  5. Ensure that all Child Life services are delivered with excellent patient care and family-centered services.
  6. Monitor and assess departmental performance to ensure high standards of patient care.
  7. Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  8. Serve as a mentor and role model for the Child Life team.
  9. Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  10. Remain current on best practices in Child Life services.
