- Provide occupational therapy services to children and families in accordance with state and federal regulations and hospital policies.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients based on their specific needs and goals.
- Collaborate with the occupational therapist and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Conduct therapy sessions with children, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques and activities to promote functional skills and independence.
- Educate and involve parents and caregivers in the therapy process, providing them with resources and strategies to support their child's progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans, in compliance with hospital standards.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate regularly with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Stay informed on current research and techniques in pediatric occupational therapy and apply them to clinical practice.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights and dignity of patients and their families.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients by seeking feedback, participating in professional development opportunities, and implementing evidence-based practices.
An Associate's Degree In Occupational Therapy Assistant (Ota) Or A Related Field From An Accredited Program.
Current Certification And Registration As An Occupational Therapist Assistant (Cota) By The National Board For Certification In Occupational Therapy (Nbcot).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Cota In A Pediatric Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Rehabilitation Center.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Pediatric Occupational Therapy Interventions, Techniques, And Equipment.
Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Communicate With Pediatric Patients And Their Families.
