- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patients' condition and report any changes to the appropriate medical staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Assist with procedures and surgeries as needed.
- Prepare patients and their families for procedures and provide education and support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Keep up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and techniques in pediatric medicine.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and other medical staff.

Completion Of A Recognized Medical Assistant Training Program: Candidates For A Certified Medical Assistant - Pacu Position At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Should Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Training Program, Such As The Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Program Through The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).
Current Certification As A Medical Assistant: The Candidate Should Hold Current Certification As A Medical Assistant From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Aama Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).
Experience Working In A Pacu Setting: Applicants Should Have Experience Working In A Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Pacu) Setting, Preferably With Pediatric Patients. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle The Unique Challenges Of Caring For Children In A Post-Operative Setting.
Knowledge Of Pediatric Care And Procedures: As A Certified Medical Assistant - Pacu At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia, The Candidate Will Be Working With Pediatric Patients. Therefore, They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Pediatric Care And Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Children And Their Families.
Strong Organizational And Communication Skills: Working In A Fast-Paced Environment Like A Pacu Requires Strong Organizational And Communication Skills. The Candidate Should Be Able To Prioritize Tasks, Multitask, And Communicate Effectively With The Surgical Team And Patients' Families. This Will Ensure A Smooth And Efficient Flow Of Patients Through The Pacu.
