- Provide compassionate and skilled medical care to pediatric patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures under the direction of a physician or nurse.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Assist with patient assessments, including taking medical histories, obtaining vital signs, and documenting information accurately.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications and providing comfort measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting treatments, medications, and procedures performed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of patient care and safety.
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care and provide any necessary follow-up instructions.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in pediatric care.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment by working collaboratively with team members and demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Serve as an advocate for pediatric patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards of the healthcare profession.
Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Recognized Medical Assistant Training Program To Ensure They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills For The Position.
Certification As A Medical Assistant (Cma): The Candidate Must Hold A Current Cma Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama), To Demonstrate Their Competency In The Field.
Previous Experience In A Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Pacu) Setting: Working In A Pacu Requires Specialized Skills And Knowledge, So Previous Experience In This Type Of Setting Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Pediatric Care: As A Certified Medical Assistant At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia, The Candidate Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Pediatric Care And Be Familiar With The Unique Needs Of Pediatric Patients.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Environment. They Must Also Have The Ability To Work Well In A Team And Demonstrate Empathy And Compassion Towards Patients.
