  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to pediatric patients and their families.
  2. Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  3. Perform various administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling insurance billing.
  4. Follow strict infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  5. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and their families, as well as with other members of the healthcare team.
  6. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by physicians and in accordance with established protocols.
  7. Educate patients and their families on medical procedures, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.
  8. Maintain and stock medical supplies and equipment to ensure their availability and proper functioning.
  9. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  11. Collaborate with other team members to improve patient care and processes within the department.
  12. Continuously monitor and assess patient needs and provide appropriate support, referrals, and resources.
  13. Keep updated on current medical practices and procedures to provide the best care possible.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  15. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: Candidates For This Position Must Have Completed A Formal Education Program And Received A Certificate Or Degree In Medical Assisting From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Certification From The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).

  • Pediatric Experience: It Is Preferred That Candidates Have Previous Experience In A Pediatric Setting, As This Role Will Involve Working With Children Of All Ages.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems: The Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Utilizes An Emr System, So Candidates Should Have Experience With Navigating And Documenting Within Electronic Health Records.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Certified Medical Assistant At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Compassionate And Professional Manner.
