Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where our mission is to provide exceptional care and support to our young patients and their families. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Billing and Collections Specialist to join our Physician Billing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of services provided by our physicians, as well as managing collections activities to maximize revenue. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong understanding of medical billing processes and regulations.   1. Accurately and timely process billing for services provided by physicians.
  2. Monitor and review claims for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
  4. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with medical billing regulations and guidelines.
  5. Manage collections activities to maximize revenue and reduce accounts receivable.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance companies, patients, and other stakeholders.
  7. Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to resolve any billing-related issues.
  8. Stay up-to-date on changes and updates in insurance and billing regulations.
  9. Educate and train new team members on the billing and collections processes.
  10. Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing and collections activities.
  11. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  12. Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and patient services, to resolve billing-related issues.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns related to billing.
  14. Communicate with patients and families regarding their financial responsibilities and assist with setting up payment plans when necessary.
  15. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures related to billing and collections.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Medical Billing And Collections, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Insurance Terminology, Coding Guidelines, And Billing Regulations.

  • Proficient In Using Electronic Health Record Systems And Medical Billing Software.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Insurance Companies, And Healthcare Providers.

  • Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Process And Reconcile Large Volumes Of Billing And Payment Data.
