Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our young patients. We are currently seeking a compassionate and creative Art Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As an Art Therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families through the use of art as a therapeutic tool. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about helping others, has strong interpersonal skills, and is able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. If you have a background in art therapy and a desire to make a difference in the lives of children, we would love to hear from you.

  1. Conduct art therapy sessions with children and families to address emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Create a safe and supportive environment for patients to explore their emotions and express themselves through art.
  4. Assess patients' progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  5. Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate patient records.
  6. Provide support and guidance to families and caregivers of patients.
  7. Utilize a variety of art materials and techniques to facilitate therapeutic interventions.
  8. Stay informed on current research and best practices in the field of art therapy.
  9. Educate and raise awareness about the benefits of art therapy for children and families.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical standards for the practice of art therapy.
  12. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth.
  14. Foster a sense of empathy, compassion, and understanding in all interactions with patients and their families.
  15. Serve as an advocate for the needs of children and families within the healthcare system.

Job Qualifications
  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team, With Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Master's Degree In Art Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Registration As An Art Therapist With The Art Therapy Credentials Board (Atcb).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Art Therapist In A Pediatric Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Child Development And Experience Working With Children With Medical And Psychological Needs.
