Fluent In American Sign Language (Asl): The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A High Level Of Proficiency In Asl, Including Knowledge Of Various Signing Styles And Regional Variations.
Certification As A Asl Interpreter: Candidates Should Hold A Nationally Recognized Certification As An Asl Interpreter, Such As The National Interpreter Certification (Nic) Or The Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (Eipa).
Experience Working With Children: The Role Of An Asl Interpreter At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Will Involve Working With Pediatric Patients And Their Families. Therefore, Candidates Should Have Experience Working With Children And Be Able To Adapt Their Communication Style Accordingly.
