Job Description

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we are looking for an experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team. This position requires a passionate individual who is committed to providing excellent communication support to our patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of fluency in both ASL and English, as well as a comprehensive understanding of deaf culture.The ASL Interpreter will be responsible for providing interpreting services in both spoken English and ASL. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse community of individuals with hearing impairments, while contributing to a culture of inclusion and respect. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide interpreting services in English and American Sign Language (ASL) for patients and their families.
  2. Show fluency in both ASL and English.

  5. Provide a high level of customer service.
  6. Possess certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

  9. Be knowledgeable of various technologies, such as video-conferencing and digital interpreting platforms.
  10. Work independently and as part of a team.
