- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures for all ambulatory care settings at CHOP.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment usage, and environmental cleaning.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential infection risks and take necessary corrective actions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to educate and train them on infection control best practices.
- Stay up-to-date on current infection prevention guidelines and regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance to healthcare providers and staff on infection control issues and concerns.
- Investigate and report any potential outbreaks or clusters of infections to appropriate authorities.
- Collaborate with other departments and infection control professionals to develop and implement organization-wide infection control initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of infection control data and prepare reports as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control and patient safety.
- Stay informed on emerging infectious diseases and develop plans for their prevention and management.
- Demonstrate a commitment to patient and employee safety by following all CHOP policies and procedures.
- Serve as a role model for infection control practices and promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to infection prevention and control.
- Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to share best practices and stay informed on industry standards.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Or A Related Field.
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.
Knowledge Of Current Infection Prevention Guidelines And Regulations, Including Those Specific To Ambulatory Care Settings.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Staff On Infection Prevention Measures.
