Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia seeks an experienced, compassionate Advanced Child Life Specialist - Outpatient Radiology to join our team! We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with children and families and who demonstrates exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate for this role will have a Bachelor's degree in Child Life or a related field, a minimum of two years' experience in a child life setting, and a Child Life Certification from the Association of Child Life Professionals. Our Advanced Child Life Specialist will be responsible for providing therapeutic play, preparation, and support for patients who are undergoing outpatient radiology procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic play, preparation, and support for patients who are undergoing outpatient radiology procedures
  • Develop individualized patient care plans to ensure the best possible experience for each patient
  • Collaborate with other members of the health care team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients
  • Educate patients and families about radiology procedures and help them cope with anxiety and fear
  • Develop and implement activities and strategies to reduce stress and anxiety in patients
  • Assess the patient’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs and provide appropriate interventions
  • Provide support for families to help them understand their child’s diagnosis and treatment
  • Maintain documentation of patient’s progress and interventions
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
