
Trauma Registrar

- Accurately document and maintain medical records for patients who have experienced traumatic injuries.
- Ensure all records are complete, up-to-date, and in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Collect and analyze data related to trauma patient demographics, injuries, treatments, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical staff, nursing teams, and other departments to obtain and verify information for patient records.
- Utilize electronic medical records systems to enter and retrieve patient information.
- Code and classify diagnoses, procedures, and treatments according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Identify and report any errors or discrepancies in medical records to appropriate personnel.
- Communicate with patients and their families to obtain necessary information and provide updates on record keeping processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in handling sensitive medical information.
- Stay current on industry standards and best practices for trauma record keeping and data collection.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of trauma records.
- Provide training and support to medical staff and other team members on proper record keeping protocols and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for coding and documentation questions or concerns.
- Embody the hospital's mission and values in all interactions and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth in the field of trauma registry.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management, Nursing, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Trauma Registry Or Related Healthcare Setting.
Certified Specialist In Trauma Registry (Cstr) Certification Or Willingness To Obtain Within 1 Year Of Hire.
Strong Understanding Of Icd-10-Cm And Ais Coding Systems.
Excellent Organizational And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
