Surgical Technician - Procedure Center

Children's Hospital Colorado is looking for an experienced and compassionate Surgical Technician to join our Procedure Center team. Our ideal candidate will be committed to delivering the highest quality of care to our patients and their families, and will be capable of working collaboratively with our medical staff in a fast-paced environment. The Surgical Technician will be responsible for facilitating patient care through the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field, equipment, and supplies.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess a minimum of two years of experience as a Surgical Technician, as well as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) designation. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to think critically and manage dynamic workflows. Finally, the successful candidate must have a genuine passion for providing care to patients and their families, and be committed to delivering the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a sterile field, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established protocols.
2. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the operating room prior to, during, and after surgery.
3. Prepare and arrange instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
4. Assist with the movement and positioning of patients during surgery.
5. Monitor patient vital signs and report changes to the surgical team.
6. Monitor the surgical team’s activities and ensure the safety of the patient.
7. Maintain accurate records of all surgical materials and supplies.
8. Maintain an organized surgical environment and ensure all materials and equipment are properly stored.
9. Perform all tasks according to established procedures and protocols.
10. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, staff, and visitors.
11. Follow safety protocols and adhere to infection prevention guidelines.
12. Remain current on new developments in the field of surgical technology.
