
Sterile Processing Technician

- Ensure proper sterilization of all medical equipment and instruments used in patient care.
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on sterilization equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of infections.
- Prepare and package equipment and instruments for sterilization and storage.
- Maintain accurate records of all sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in sterile processing.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff members on sterile processing procedures and protocols.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing environment.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and procedures.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
- Act as a role model for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the workplace.
- Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards related to sterile processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Completion Of A Sterile Processing Technician Program Or Equivalent Education And Training.
Certification As A Sterile Processing Technician From A Recognized Accrediting Agency.
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Experience In A Sterile Processing Or Healthcare Environment.
Knowledge Of Infection Control And Sterilization Techniques.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment.
