  1. Oversee the daily operations of the Sterile Processing department at Children's Hospital Colorado.
  2. Ensure compliance with all sterile processing protocols, standards, and guidelines.
  3. Lead a team of Sterile Processing Technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  4. Develop and implement training programs for new and existing team members.
  5. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate processing of sterile equipment and supplies.
  7. Maintain inventory levels and order necessary supplies to support department needs.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: Candidates For The Sterile Processing Tech Lead Position At Children's Hospital Colorado Should Possess A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).

  • Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Sterile Processing Technician Is Required For This Role. Candidates With Previous Experience In A Lead Or Supervisory Role Will Be Given Preference.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Industry Standards And Guidelines For Sterile Processing, Including Aami, Aorn, And Joint Commission Regulations.

  • Communication Skills: As A Lead, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Technicians And Communicating With Other Departments And Healthcare Providers. Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Attention To Detail: In A Healthcare Setting, Attention To Detail Is Crucial. The Sterile Processing Tech Lead Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Sterilized And Maintained According To Established Protocols.
