  1. Provide interpretation services for Spanish-speaking patients and their families during medical appointments, procedures, and consultations.
  2. Facilitate communication between medical staff and patients/families to ensure accurate understanding of medical information, instructions, and treatment plans.
  3. Translate medical documents and forms from English to Spanish and vice versa.
  4. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
  5. Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures to accurately interpret and convey information.
  6. Remain up-to-date on medical terminology and procedures to ensure accurate interpretation.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of cultural differences and their impact on communication and healthcare.
  8. Collaborate with other interpreters and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent and high-quality interpretation services.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed records of interpretation services provided.
  10. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance interpretation skills and cultural competency.
  11. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  12. Display compassion, empathy, and sensitivity towards patients and their families, particularly in challenging and emotional situations.
  13. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards for medical interpreters.
  14. Continuously strive to improve and enhance interpretation services to better meet the needs of patients and their families.
