Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (PICU) to join our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) team at Children’s Hospital Colorado. This is an opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, diverse group of professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care for our pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, patient-focused RN with a commitment to excellence and a passion for improving the lives of children and their families.The Registered Nurse (PICU) will provide direct and indirect patient care services, coordinate patient care activities, and collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care. We are seeking someone with a minimum of two years of recent experience in PICU and a current Colorado RN license. Ideal candidates must also have strong communication and organizational skills, a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct and indirect patient care services in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
  2. Coordinate patient care activities and collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Ensure the highest quality of care in accordance with departmental and hospital standards.
  4. Monitor the condition of patients in the PICU and take appropriate action when necessary.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
  6. Educate patients and families on the care process, treatments, and medications.
  7. Document patient care and progress.
  8. Maintain current knowledge of nursing best practices and standards of care.
  9. Participate in quality initiatives and process improvement projects.
  10. Maintain strong communication and organizational skills.
  11. Follow all safety protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care.
  12. Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Job Qualifications
