- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to pediatric patients undergoing cancer treatment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and assess patient's physical and emotional well-being, and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about the disease process, treatment options, and necessary lifestyle changes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication administration.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing concerns and providing emotional support.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in pediatric oncology to provide evidence-based care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care for patients.
- Act as a role model for nursing staff, demonstrating professionalism and dedication to patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Colorado.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Oncology Nursing, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.
Certification In Pediatric Oncology Nursing (Cpon) Or Willingness To Obtain Within 1 Year Of Hire.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Well In A Multidisciplinary Team.
