Job Description

At Children's Hospital Colorado, we are currently looking for a Pharmacy Technician - Controlled Substances to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate for this position will have exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as a desire to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. The Pharmacy Technician - Controlled Substances will provide the necessary support to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the controlled substances process within the pharmacy.The successful candidate must have a minimum of one year of experience as a registered pharmacy technician, with the ability to complete online training and obtain a Colorado Controlled Substance Registration. Additionally, the candidate must possess a valid State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician Registration, have a basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. An Associate's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy to ensure efficient and effective processing of controlled substances.
  2. Maintain current Colorado Controlled Substance Registration and valid State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician Registration.
  3. Demonstrate a basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and terminology.
  4. Utilize Microsoft Office and other computer software to complete tasks.
  5. Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to customers.
  6. Maintain inventory, order and restock pharmaceuticals as necessary.
  7. Assist pharmacists with the preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications.
  8. Ensure all safety and quality protocols are followed.
  9. Monitor and document controlled substance activity in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  10. Keep up-to-date on changes in pharmacy laws and regulations.
