Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital Colorado! We are looking for an experienced and certified Phlebotomist to join our team and provide exceptional care to our pediatric patients. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood samples from our patients. This is a fast-paced and critical role, and we are looking for someone who is dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care.The ideal candidate for this role should have at least two years of experience in a similar setting, and must possess a current certification in Phlebotomy. In addition, the candidate should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a team-oriented environment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care and is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and process blood samples from pediatric patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  3. Follow safety and infection control procedures in accordance with hospital policy.
  4. Perform quality control procedures on equipment and ensure that all instruments are properly calibrated.
  5. Document patient information and results in the patient’s medical record.
  6. Provide patient education regarding the collection process.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare personnel.
  8. Maintain current certification in Phlebotomy.
  9. Exercise a high degree of professionalism and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  10. Maintain necessary inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
