Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital Colorado, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our young patients. We are currently seeking compassionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Patient Access Representatives. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process for our patients and their families. As the first point of contact for many families, we are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication skills and a warm, friendly demeanor.   1. Greet and welcome patients and their families in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Register patients accurately and efficiently, following hospital policies and procedures.
  3. Obtain and verify necessary patient information, including personal and insurance information.
  4. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  5. Schedule patient appointments and update appointment information as needed.
  6. Educate patients and families on hospital policies, procedures, and services.
  7. Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure smooth patient flow and timely appointments.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  9. Handle patient complaints and resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
  10. Keep work area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  11. Attend training sessions and stay up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures.
  12. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients and their families.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and co-workers to ensure a positive experience.
  14. Follow up with patients regarding any missing or incomplete information.
  15. Continuously strive to improve the patient registration process and overall patient experience.
  16. Adhere to all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  17. Multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  18. Work collaboratively with a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  19. Maintain accurate and organized records of patient information.
  20. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
