- Operate specialized equipment and perform nuclear medicine procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric patients.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about nuclear medicine procedures and answer any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, patient information, and radiopharmaceutical usage.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to protect patients, staff, and visitors from radiation exposure.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
- Stay current with advances in nuclear medicine technology and techniques through continuing education and training.

Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nuclear Medicine Technology Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Comprehensive Training And Education In The Field Of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Certification From The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (Nmtcb) Or American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt): Both The Nmtcb And Arrt Offer Certification Exams For Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Candidates For This Position Should Hold Current Certification From One Of These Organizations To Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Competency In The Field.
Experience Working In A Pediatric Setting: Children's Hospital Colorado Is A Specialized Pediatric Facility, So Experience Working With Pediatric Patients Is Highly Valued. Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Pediatric Setting Will Be Better Equipped To Handle The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working With Young Patients.
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations: As A Nuclear Medicine Technologist, It Is Crucial To Have A Thorough Understanding Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations.
