Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Neonatal Nurse Specialist At Children's Hospital Colorado Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Will Provide A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Clinical Skills That Are Necessary For Providing Specialized Care To Newborns.
Registered Nurse (Rn) License: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Colorado. This Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Necessary Requirements And Maintains Their License Through Continuing Education And Professional Development.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: Prior Experience Working In A Nicu Is Highly Preferred For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Level Iii Or Iv Nicu, With A Strong Understanding Of Neonatal Assessment, Intervention, And Care.
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Nnp) Certification: Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Is Required For This Role. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Care Of Critically Ill Newborns And Is Necessary For Providing Advanced Care In The Nicu.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Neonatal Nurse Specialist, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Collaborating With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Providing Support And Education To Families Of Newborns In The Nicu.
