Job Description

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a dedicated Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Level II for our state-of-the-art NICU. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare providers to provide high-quality, family-centered care to our most vulnerable patients.   1. Provide expert care to newborns in the NICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex medical conditions.
  2. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  3. Monitor and manage the overall health and wellness of newborns, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing education and support to families.
  4. Utilize evidence-based practice and current research to guide clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including health histories, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  6. Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff and students, providing guidance and education on neonatal care.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care and ensure patient safety.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards and guidelines.
  9. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay current on advancements in neonatal care.
  10. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing, With A Specialization In Neonatal Care: The Candidate Should Have A Master's Degree In Nursing With A Focus On Neonatal Care, To Ensure A Thorough Understanding Of The Specialized Care Required For Premature And Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Nnp): The Candidate Should Hold A Valid Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Demonstrating Their Expertise And Knowledge In Providing Advanced Care For Neonates.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Level Ii Nicu: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Level Ii Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu), To Ensure They Have The Necessary Skills And Experience To Handle Complex Cases.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications: The Candidate Should Hold Current Certifications In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp), Which Are Essential For Providing Emergency Care To Newborns.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner In A Level Ii Nicu, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills Are Crucial For Effective Coordination Of Care For Newborns.
