Medical Interpreter

At Children's Hospital Colorado, we are looking for an experienced Medical Interpreter who can provide top-notch quality language services to patients and their families. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret accurately in both English and a second language. As a Medical Interpreter, you will be the link between our non-English speaking patients and their families, and medical professionals. You will provide direct interpreting services in a variety of settings, including patient visits, meetings, and telephone conversations, ensuring that our patients are provided with the highest quality of care. Qualifications for this position include:• Fluency in both English and a second language • Relevant experience in medical interpreting, healthcare, or language services• Strong understanding of medical terminology• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities:

1. Provide accurate and timely interpretation services in both English and a second language for patient visits, meetings, and telephone conversations.
2. Ensure that all communication is accurately interpreted and that the patient and their family are provided with the highest quality of care.
3. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion when interpreting.
5. Remain current on medical terminology and ensure accuracy when interpreting.
6. Work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
7. Remain flexible and available for additional shifts and/or assignments when needed.
8. Participate in any relevant training and/or continuing education programs as assigned.
9. Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
