
Laboratory Assistant

- Collect and process patient specimens according to established procedures and protocols.
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain the integrity and quality control of all laboratory samples and results.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Document and report any abnormal or unexpected results to the appropriate medical staff.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate test results.
- Handle and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding laboratory procedures and results.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with new laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and assist with implementing new processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Take initiative to identify and resolve any issues or problems that may arise in the laboratory.
- Support the hospital's mission and values, and uphold ethical standards in all job duties.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Medical Laboratory Science.
Prior Experience Working In A Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A Pediatric Or Hospital Setting.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Specimen Collection, Handling, And Processing.
Ability To Follow Detailed Protocols And Maintain Accurate Records.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
