
Infection Preventionist
At Children's Hospital Colorado, we are dedicated to providing excellent care to our pediatric patients. To ensure the safety of our patients, we are looking for an experienced Infection Preventionist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based infection prevention and control practices. The Infection Preventionist must be dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients and their families.We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, or a related field, as well as three years of experience in infection control or related healthcare experience. The ideal candidate will have current knowledge of CDC and Joint Commission standards and have experience in developing and implementing infection prevention policies and procedures. Responsibilities of an Infection Preventionist:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based infection prevention and control practices.
- Ensure adherence to CDC and Joint Commission standards for infection prevention and control.
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Monitor infection control performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Educate staff and other healthcare professionals on infection prevention and control best practices.
- Perform surveillance and outbreak investigations to identify sources of infection.
- Maintain accurate records of infection control activities.
- Provide timely reporting of infection control data to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Remain current on best practices and emerging trends in infection prevention and control.
