Job Description

As the Director of Patient Safety, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of care for our young patients and their families.   1. Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety throughout the hospital.
  2. Oversee and manage all aspects of the hospital's patient safety program, including policies, procedures, and training.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and staff to identify potential safety risks and implement proactive solutions.
  4. Conduct regular audits and evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the hospital's patient safety measures.
  5. Stay informed about national and local patient safety initiatives, and ensure the hospital is in compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
  6. Serve as a resource for staff on patient safety issues and provide education and training as needed.
  7. Lead investigations and root cause analyses for adverse events, and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and agencies to promote patient safety initiatives.
  9. Monitor and analyze data related to patient safety and quality metrics, and recommend improvements based on findings.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the hospital and patients/families regarding safety concerns or incidents.
  11. Develop and maintain a culture of safety throughout the hospital, promoting open communication and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  12. Provide regular reports and updates on patient safety initiatives and outcomes to hospital leadership.
  13. Collaborate with the Quality and Risk Management departments to integrate patient safety strategies into overall quality improvement efforts.
  14. Participate in hospital committees related to patient safety and quality improvement.
  15. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to patient safety.
  16. Mentor and provide guidance to other staff involved in patient safety initiatives.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  18. Foster a positive and supportive work environment for all staff, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  19. Continuously evaluate and update patient safety policies and procedures to reflect best practices and industry standards.
  20. Represent the hospital at conferences, workshops, and other events related to patient safety.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Healthcare Leadership Roles, With A Focus On Patient Safety And Quality Improvement.

  • Master's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Patient Safety Principles, Regulatory Requirements, And Industry Best Practices.

  • Proven Track Record Of Implementing Successful Patient Safety Initiatives And Driving Improvements In Patient Outcomes.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Healthcare Providers, Administrators, And Regulatory Bodies.
