- Conduct regular quality reviews of inpatient medical records to ensure accurate and compliant coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies or errors in coding, working closely with coding staff and healthcare providers.
- Utilize thorough knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with coding team to provide education and training on coding best practices and updates.
- Stay up-to-date on changes and updates to coding guidelines and regulations.
- Communicate coding updates and changes to relevant departments and staff.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding of patient diagnoses and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze coding data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve coding accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments, such as billing and finance, to resolve coding-related issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to coding and patient care.
- Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy.
- Serve as a resource for coding-related inquiries and provide support to other coding staff as needed.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Coding And Auditing Inpatient Medical Records, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Guidelines And Regulations.
Certification As A Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc).
Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Identify And Report Coding Errors And Discrepancies.
