- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Child Life Program at Children's Hospital Colorado.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities, interventions, and services for pediatric patients and their families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Conduct assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of patients and develop individualized plans to meet those needs.
- Provide emotional support, education, and resources to patients and families to help them cope with the hospital experience.
- Supervise and train child life specialists and volunteers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of services provided and patient progress.
- Advocate for the needs of pediatric patients and families within the hospital and community.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance the Child Life Program and provide resources for patients and families.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in child life and integrate them into the program.
- Plan and facilitate special events and programs for pediatric patients and families.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients and families.
- Actively participate in hospital committees and meetings to represent the Child Life Program.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients and families.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the Child Life Program to ensure high-quality services are provided.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Act as a role model and mentor for child life specialists and volunteers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the Child Life Program and educate the public about the services offered.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Children's Hospital Colorado in all aspects of the role.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) In A Pediatric Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Child Development, Family Dynamics, And The Impact Of Illness And Hospitalization On Children And Families.
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams And Community Partners.
Demonstrated Leadership Experience And The Ability To Manage And Supervise A Team Of Child Life Specialists.
