
Behavioral Health Specialist Psychiatric Emergency Department

- Provide compassionate and dedicated mental health services to children and adolescents in crisis.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Department.
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to provide immediate support and stabilization for patients and their families.
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
- Administer evidence-based interventions and therapies to address the emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs of patients.
- Monitor and document patient progress, as well as any changes in symptoms or behaviors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights and dignity of patients and their families.
- Attend regular trainings and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of mental health.
- Act as a resource and advocate for patients and families, providing education and support as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to promote the highest level of care for patients.
- Serve as a positive and professional representative of Children's Hospital Colorado in all interactions with patients, families, and the community.
Master's Degree In Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Psychiatric Emergency Department Or Related Setting.
Licensure Or Certification In Clinical Mental Health Counseling Or Social Work (E.g. Lcsw, Lpc, Lmhc).
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices For Treating Children And Adolescents With Behavioral Health Issues.
Ability To Work Collaboratively With Interdisciplinary Teams And Provide Crisis Intervention And Support To Patients And Families.
