Anesthesia Technician

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Set up and maintain patient monitoring devices.
- Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of anesthesia equipment.
- Assist anesthesia providers in the induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of anesthesia.
- Monitor patient vital signs and inform anesthesia providers of any changes or concerns.
- Prepare and assist with intubation and extubation procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Document accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend and participate in department meetings and trainings.
- Continuously educate oneself on current anesthesia techniques and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure the overall well-being and safety of patients.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
- Assist with stocking and ordering of anesthesia supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by anesthesia providers or department leadership.
Certification: A Valid Certification From The American Society Of Anesthesia Technologists And Technicians (Asatt) Is A Must For This Position.
Education: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, With Preference Given To Candidates Who Have Completed An Accredited Anesthesia Technician Program.
Experience: At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In Pediatrics, Is Required For This Role. Candidates With Experience In Anesthesia Equipment Maintenance And Troubleshooting Will Be Prioritized.
Knowledge Of Anesthesia Equipment: A Thorough Understanding Of Anesthesia Equipment, Supplies, And Procedures Is Crucial For This Role. Candidates Should Have Experience In Setting Up And Troubleshooting Anesthesia Machines, Monitoring Equipment, And Administering Anesthesia Drugs.
Attention To Detail: Anesthesia Technicians Must Have Strong Attention To Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols And Procedures Accurately. This Is A Critical Aspect Of Ensuring Patient Safety During Procedures. Candidates Should Also Have Excellent Organizational Skills And The Ability To Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment.
